Keith L. Knoedler, 76, of North Platte, passed away March 15, 2014 at his home. He was born Jan. 3, 1938 to John and Hannah (Gronewold) Knoedler at Farnam, NE. Keith was raised in Gothenburg and attended Gothenburg High School. He served in the United States Army. On June 2, 1960, he was united in marriage to Peggy Ann Haynes at Gothenburg. Keith was employed as the parts manager for John Hurt Chevrolet/Denny Mogis Chevrolet from 1959 until 1978. He then owned and operated A & W Restaurant in North Platte for 24 years. Keith enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and making homemade ice cream and donuts with his grandkids. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; son, Troy both of North Platte; daughter, Janell Svoboda of Lincoln; two brothers, Raymond Knoedler of Eugene, OR and Harold Knoedler of Gothenburg; two sisters, Pat Teter of Springfield, OR and Maxine Metcalf of Salem, OR; four grandchildren, Chad and Derek Knoedler, Jared and Jordyn Svoboda; nieces; nephews; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a granddaughter, Brittany Nicole Svoboda. A memorial has been established in his memory. Online condolences may be shared at www.carpentermemorial.com. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery with military honors graveside. Visitation will be from1:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements.
