NSP Nabs 15 Impaired Drivers During St. Paddy’s Day Enforcement

NSPTroopers with the Nebraska State Patrol took 15 impaired drivers off the road during special enforcement efforts conducted over the St. Patrick’s Day holiday, March 13-17.

In addition to the 15 Driving Under the Influence (DUI) arrests, troopers issued eight Open Container, five Minor in Possession and 48 Speeding citations. Troopers also wrote 48 Seat Belt citations and warnings and issued two Child Restraint citations.

Special enforcement efforts including DUI checkpoints and high visibility patrols were conducted thanks in part to overtime funding provided by a $15,620 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety (NOHS).

The following statistics are a reflection of statewide activity by the Nebraska State Patrol during the St. Patrick’s Day Special Enforcement.
