Doris Marie Muchlinski, 88, of North Platte passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Centennial Park Retirement Village. Doris graduated from St. Patrick’s High School in 1943 and St Francis Hospital School of Nursing at Grand Island in 1946.  She received a B.S. in Nursing from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. in 1956.  Miss M. worked in hospitals in Syracuse, NY; Utica, NY; Honolulu, Hawaii and Kalaupapa, Molokai, Hawaii.  After returning home she worked at Linden Manor Nursing Home for twelve years, retiring September 1, 1990. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parrish, Daughters of Charity and the American Legion Auxiliary.  She enjoyed singing in the choir, having been a member of many since grade school. She is survived by cousins, Eloise and Les Weil, Linda and Bill Smith, Mike LaVelle, Christy LaVelle; special friends, Charles and Toni Barron and Pat Sexton; and her parish family. She was preceded in death by her parents, a twin sister, Ardis; a sister, Irene, and two brothers, Vincent and Paul. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Rosary will be 9:30 a.m. prior to the mass at the church.  Burial will be at the North Platte Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Carpenter Memorial Church.
