On the Big Ten Conference coaches teleconference yesterday, Huskers head coach Bo Pelini spoke to the media for the first time since his well-publicized postgame press conference after last Saturday’s 34-27 victory over Ohio State. Pelini preached consistency in his remarks, saying his team needs to get to a place where all eleven players are executing their assignments on every play. It’s a bye week for the Huskers, and Pelini is happy to have it this week, saying it’s a natural halfway point for his team and gives his players a chance to heal up from minor injuries. Pelini also spoke about the future of cornerback Stanley Jean-Baptiste, whose interception was critical in Saturday’s win. Pelini said that Jean-Baptiste, who converted to corner just three weeks ago, could wind up starting at the position soon.
