The first fall sport to complete its season wrapped up yesterday, as the state girls golf tournaments came to a close. The North Platte Bulldogs finished eleventh out of twelve teams in the Class A tournament at the Norfolk Country Club. The team shot a two-day score of 821, 136 strokes behind state champion Grand Island. Bulldogs senior Karissa Moreland shot an 87 on Tuesday for a two-day total of 176, good for a tie for fifteenth, thirteen shots behind state champ Gentry Carveth of Lincoln Southwest. In the Class C tournament at Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus, Gothenburg junior Heidi Teahon finished with a two-day total of 210. That score was 66 strokes behind Danielle Lemek of Doniphan-Trumbull, who won her fourth consecutive state title, only the second girls golfer in state history to do so.
