(AP) — A settlement has been reached between Lincoln County and contractors over the botched construction of a jail that opened in 2011.
According to the agreement, the county will keep the remainder of the money it owed Roche Constructors, general contractor for the project, estimated at $273,000.
The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners is expected to sign the agreement when it meets Monday.
Concrete floors and the jail’s roof had to be replaced before the jail opened, and the county later filed a claim citing a whole host of other problems, including broken curbs, water leaks and mold.
