Jerry B. Bauer, 73, of North Platte, passed away May 18, 2014 at his home. He was born Nov. 30, 1940 to Oscar and Dorothy (Curry) Bauer at Alliance, NE. Jerry graduated from Alliance High School with the class of 1958. He was united in marriage to Doretta D. Roth on Dec. 10, 1951 at Atkinson, NE. Jerry had a private pilot’s license and worked for Frontier Airlines. His employment took them to the communities of Valentine, Scottsbluff, Alliance, Gering, North Platte, and Lincoln. He owned and operated ARC Automotive Reconditioning Company in Lincoln. Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing and Husker Football. He loved his family, God, and country. He was a member of Maxwell Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon; and was a lifetime member of NRA. He is survived by his wife, Doretta of North Platte; his son, Daryl (Tracy) Bauer of Lincoln; daughter, Corinna (Rick) Byler of Montana; grandchildren, Daniel, Emily, Seth, Holly, and Caleb; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the Maxwell Baptist Church. Burial will be at the Miriam Cemetery. The casket will not be open at the church. Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements.
