Severe Weather Reported in Nebraska Panhandle

severe-weatherMITCHELL, Nebraska (AP) — Weather officials are monitoring severe weather in the Nebraska Panhandle.

The National Weather Service says a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was reported around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday near Mitchell. It was moving east at 20 mph. There are no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

A tornado warning was in effect for south central Sioux and north central Scotts Bluff counties. Officials say quarter-size hail and flying debris is possible.
