Lisa Renee’ (Adams) Hiller, age 44, of Hershey, died May 23, 2014, at her home after a hard fought, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Lisa was born on June 17, 1969 in Pasco, WA to Larry and Linda (Thompson) Adams. She has one older sister, Lori Adams.
The family moved to Pierre, SD when she was 6 years old. Lisa attended and graduated from T.F. Riggs High School in Pierre, SD. She then graduated from the University of South Dakota with an associate’s degree in nursing. She worked for a short time as an RN at St. Mary’s Hospital in Pierre.
Prior to college graduation, Lisa met the love of her life, Allen Hiller. He was home from A.I.T. with the U.S. Army at the time they met. Allen was stationed at Ft. Stewart, Georgia. He spent nine months in Saudi Arabia during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. The couple became engaged when he returned from the gulf, and were married on April 25, 1992 in Pierre. To this marriage, two beautiful daughters were born; Makayla Elise, and Tara Suzanne. The family lives in Hershey, NE, surrounded by many loving friends. Lisa was currently working at the NP Surgery Center when she became ill.
Survivors include her husband, Allen of Hershey; two daughters, Makayla and Tara of Hershey; parents, Larry and Linda Adams of Pierre; a sister, Lori Adams of Mitchell, SD; mother-in-law, Mary Hiller of Pierre; a niece, Camryn Krogman of Mitchell; and two nephews, Brandon and DJ Krogman of Mitchell; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Chet Hiller, and her Grandma and Grandpa Thompson, and Grandma and Grandpa Adams.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday May 28, 2014 at the Hershey High School new gym with the Rev. Erin Dunlavy and Rev. Scott Mustion officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 12-6, and Tuesday from 9-9 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to her daughter’s education funds.
Additional services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Faith Lutheran Church in Pierre, SD. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Pierre. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
