(AP) — Authorities are investigating the driver of a vehicle that plowed through a backyard in northeast Nebraska and hurt four children.
Antelope County Sheriff Bob Moore says 42-year-old Stephen Barrington, of Oakdale, drove his SUV through his home’s backyard Sunday night. The vehicle hit a tent with five children near it. Four of them were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Barrington was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. He’s being held at the Antelope County Jail. Court records do not list an attorney.
Moore sayd the children, all boys, range in age from about 9 to 13 years old. At least three have been released from the hospital.
Moore says Barrington was arguing with his wife prior to the crash.
