YORK, Neb. (AP) — Authorities are looking into what caused the death of a 24-year-old Lincoln man found unconscious in the York County Jail cell where he was being held on suspicion of impaired driving.

Tyler Crespi was found in his jail cell Sunday and was later pronounced dead at York General Hospital.

Sheriff Dale Radcliff says the Nebraska State Patrol had arrested Crespi in a traffic stop on Interstate 80 around 2 p.m. Sunday on suspicion of driving erratically while under the influence of drugs.

Radcliff says the cause of death has not officially been determined, but authorities suspect Crespi died of a drug overdose.

A grand jury will review the death, as required by state law anytime someone dies in police custody.
