Arlene Joyce Miller, 81, of North Platte, passed away at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Ne. Arlene was born February 25, 1933 in Central City, NE to Alfred W. and Eva (Sims) Grubbs. She lived and was raised in Grand Island, NE where she graduated with the class of 1951. On April 20, 1952 she married Bob M. Miller. Arlene worked as a bank teller in Grand Island, Ne, Scottsbluff, NE, Sterling, CO and North Platte, NE.
Arlene was a member of the Roman Catholic Sisters of Charity, the Alter Society and Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Bob of North Platte; children, Douglas (Joyce Miller of Charlotte, NC, Mark (Debe) Miller, Theresa (Kevin) Harris all of Alliance, NE; Matthew (Linda) Miller of Panama City Beach, FL; Monica (Mike) Higgins of Alliance, NE, and Pamela (Dale) Schoening of York, NE; 19 grandchildren; 1 step-granddaughter; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Stoner of Grand Island, NE; and a brother, Glen LaVern Grubbs of Grand Island, Ne.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Thomas Alfred; two grandsons; brother, Alfred L. Grubbs; and a sister, Elenora Harrison.

Christian Wake Service will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday June12, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with the Reverend Mark Seiker as celebrant. Burial will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell. Cremation was chosen and those wishing to sign the register book may do so 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
