LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska State Treasurer Don Stenberg has set nine seminars across the state starting this week for employers making child support payments on behalf of their employees.

Among the topics to be covered will be new hire reporting, income and medical withholding, employee verification and termination and electronic payments. Stenberg says more than 85 percent of child support payments from employers on behalf of their employees are sent electronically.

The seminars are designed for human resource and payroll managers, as well as business owners, accountants, controllers and bookkeepers, and will cover changes in laws and practices relating to the withholding of court-ordered child support payments.

The seminars are free, but require registration. Participants may register online at https://www.nebraskachildsupport.com/Employers/ .

The first seminar will be held Thursday in Omaha.
