2 Adults, 7 Children Injured When SUV Rolls Near Scottsbluff

Scotts-Bluff-County-SheriffMITCHELL, Neb. (AP) — Nine people were treated for injuries after the sport utility vehicle they were in rolled on Highway 92 near Scottsbluff.

None of the injuries to the two adults and seven children in the GMC Yukon were life-threatening.

The crash happened Sunday afternoon south of Mitchell when the 35-year-old driver, Kurt Martinez, of Scottsbluff, veered off the road and the vehicle rolled. It slid on its side before coming to a stop.

All nine people inside were taken to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff.

The children’s ages ranged from 1 month to 13 years.

Martinez was cited for alleged child restraint and seat belt violations.

Mitchell is about seven miles northwest of Scottsbluff.
