OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — The Omaha police officer who was stabbed by a man at a convenience store last week has been released from the hospital.
The Omaha Police Department says 51-year-old Sophia Jordan is recovering at home. She is a 15-year veteran.
Jordan was injured Thursday while responding to a report that a man who has been banned from the store was trying to get fuel.
Jordan was attacked as she got out of her police car.
Twenty-nine-year-old Gary Jackson, of Omaha, was arrested. He is charged with assaulting an officer with a weapon. Jackson remained in jail Sunday in lieu of $500,000 bond.
