The North Platte First Nationals fell to Kearney in the district semifinals Sunday night.
Coming off what coach Rick Ostergard called the team’s “most important win of the tournament” against Hastings on Friday, the First Nationals couldn’t seem to get rolling on Sunday.
Kearney got off to a quick start, scoring three in the first inning.
Then, Kearney lit up the board in the in the third inning, scoring 15 runs, which included two home runs by Breyden Eckout. They would add seven more runs by game’s end, leading to a 25-3 victory over the First Nationals.
The First Nationals will now play Hastings again on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
The winner will move on to the championship game on Tuesday evening.
