Woman, 19, Killed in Crash Near Sidney

fatal-accidentSIDNEY, Neb. (AP) — A 19-year-old Chappell woman has been fatally injured in a western Nebraska traffic accident.

Cheyenne County Attorney Paul Schaub says the woman was driving east on U.S. Highway 30 a little after 11:30 p.m. Thursday when her vehicle ran into a westbound vehicle driven by a teenage boy. The accident occurred about four miles east of Sidney.

Schaub says the woman was flown to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, where she was pronounced dead. The boy was taken to Sidney Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

The names of those involved and other details haven’t been released. The collision is being investigated.
