William “Bill” Wamsley, 58, of North Platte, passed away August 16, 2014 at home. He was born December 10, 1955 to Gene and Joyce (Godwin) Wamsley at Sidney, NE. He graduated from Sutherland High School with the class of 1974. Bill hired out for the Union Pacific Railroad in 1975. He was involved in an auto accident in 1981 and had been battling cancer for the last 2 and half years. Bill was a member of the Moose Lodge. He was loved by many friends. Hunting and fishing were his passions. He is survived by his sister, Teresa “Terri” Wamsley of North Platte; half-brother, Tom Keefer of North of North Platte; cousins, Cynthia (Bill) Allgood, David (Cindy) Einspahr and Michelle (Jack) Blomstedt all of Sutherland; and a special friend, Chrystele Botsford. He was preceded in death by his parents; and Snowball. The family would like to thank all the wonderful home health nurses that cared for Bill. The family request everyone wear blue jeans and Husker or Hawaiian shirts to the funeral services. Online condolences may be shared at www.carpentermemorial.com. Memorials are suggested to the Moose Lodge. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at the Riverview Cemetery near Sutherland. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements.
