North Platte Police have identified the body found near McDonald’s.

According to Officer Rodney Brown, the body was identified as that of 57-year-old Mitchell William Freeman.  Brown said Freeman’s last known address was in Roseberg, Oregon.

Police were called to McDonald’s last Sunday on the report of a male body in a van parked just east of the restaurant in a vacant lot, however, his identity was withheld so police could notify his next-of-kin.

Brown said an investigator with the NPPD contacted Freeman’s family in Helena, Montana.  He said Freeman’s family voiced that they had had concerns about his declining health.

Brown said it has been determined that Freeman died of natural causes.
