GERING, Neb. (AP) — A 33-year-old Scottsbluff man has been sent to prison for sexually assaulting a child over a five-year period.

Max Samayoa was sentenced last week in Scotts Bluff County District Court. He’d been found guilty on July 8, after a trial in Gering.

Samayoa was given 35 to 40 years on each of three counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child and one to three years for third-degree sexual assault of a child. The sentences are to be served at the same time.

Court records say Scottsbluff police were called to the home of a teenage girl and her mother in February. The girl reported that she had been sexually assaulted by Cano starting when she was 11.
