The tenth-ranked Nebraska football team hopes that their best defensive effort of the year is a sign of things to come. After holding Michigan State to 187 total yards in a 24-3 win on Saturday, 20 Husker defenders received their coveted black practice shirts for the first time. They’ll have to work hard to keep them against a potent Northwestern offense this coming Saturday. Huskers defensive coordinator Carl Pelini was complimentary of Northwestern’s star quarterback, Dan Persa. Persa and the Wildcats come to Lincoln for a 2:30 kickoff this Saturday.
