MACEDONIA, Iowa (AP) — The pilot of a helicopter that crashed last week in western Iowa’s Pottawattamie County has died at the Omaha hospital where he was being treated.

Chris Moore was operating the crop-dusting helicopter over a bean field near Macedonia when it hit a power line on Sept. 6 and crashed, officials said.

Moore died Thursday, a Creighton University Medical Center.

Treynor Fire Chief Russ Maguire had said Moore was out of the wreckage and conscious when paramedics arrived following the crash. Authorities had said at the time that his injuries weren’t believed to have been life-threatening.

The details of Moore’s death on Thursday were not released.
