Bethel Ann Duling

Bethel Ann Duling, 64, of North Platte, NE, died Sunday, September 14, 2014, at the Golden Living Center in Cozad, NE.

Bethel was born March 17, 1950, to Wilfred Wilson and Florence Irene Wilson Duling at Sidney, NE where she grew up. Bethel graduated from Sidney High School in 1968 then worked for Dairy Queen and Cabelas.

In 1975, Bethel joined the U.S. Air Force in Denver, CO and was later stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. Bethel moved to North Platte in 1979, following her discharge. She went to work for Snell’s Electric then B & D Office Supply. She later moved to Denver where she was a technician for E & R Entertainment Company and traveled to different states with the company. Bethel returned to North Platte in 1997 and helped as a volunteer at the hospital.

She was a member of P.R. Halligan Post #163 American Legion. Bethel was friendly and always helping her neighbors.

Survivors include her special adopted friend, Marilyn Canady, of North Platte and her family, Robin (Mark) Loose, of Scottsbluff and Becky (James) Plunk, of North Platte; her dog, Muffin; two brothers, Lyle (Karon) Duling, of Stapleton, NE and Lonnie (Darlene) Duling, of Wheat Ridge, CO; five nieces and nephews, Shannon (Joy) Duling, Daphne (John) Fashing, Mark (Stephanie) Duling, Pamela (Mark) Herbic and Jeff Duling; six great-nieces and nephews; and other family.

Bethel was preceded in death by her father, Wilfred Duling, and her mother and stepfather, Florence and Ron Ahlberg.

Cremation was chosen. A memorial graveside service with military honors will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2014, in Fort McPherson National Cemetery. The memorial book may be signed at odeanchapel.com. Memorials are suggested to the North Platte Animal Shelter or Paws-itive Partners. Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
