The North Platte Community College Lady Knights opened their 2011-2012 basketball season with a record setting performance at McDonald-Belton Gymnasium. The Knights set a new program record for points in a single game in a 117-39 victory over the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture. Seven Knights players scored in double figures. Sophomore point guard Destini Lewis led the way with 23 points. Sophomore Renee Otero added 20, and redshirt freshman and former North Platte Bulldog Anna Woodhead chipped in 13. The Knights shot a scalding 57 percent from the field and made 12 of their 28 three-point attempts. The Knights host the NPCC Classic this weekend. They’ll play the Doane College JV on Friday night and the Hastings College JV Saturday, in a game that will be broadcast on ESPN Radio 1410.
