OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a woman who they say left her baby at home so she could go out to a bar.

Authorities were called to the bar Thursday after witnesses said they overheard the 28-year-old woman talking about leaving her 2-year-old daughter home alone. She faces a felony count of intentional child abuse.

Authorities say they extracted the woman from the Pheasant Tavern in Omaha and took her home. They say the child had a soiled diaper and puffy, watery eyes.

She is being held in the Sarpy County jail.
