‘Cuts for a Cause’, Poker Run to Raise Funds for Burch Family

burchWhen tragedy strikes, there is always comfort found in the love and care displayed by family, friends and your community.

This month, the community will have several chances to help a family that needs their love and support.

Devin Burch died in a fishing accident in the Sutherland Canal last month, leaving behind his wife, Natasha, and their children Crue, Ridyr and Olyvia.

Trends Hair Studio, 502 East Francis Street, will host the “Cuts for a Cause” fundraiser Sunday, October 5, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

All haircuts will be $10.00, and all proceeds will benefit the Burch family.

In addition to haircuts, Smokey from Twizted Needle will be hosting a silent auction at Trends.

Items up for bid include a microwave, Husker tickets, gift certificates to numerous restaurants and much more.

There will also be a raffle held for an AR-15 rifle.

If you are interested in donating a silent auction item, contact Smokey at (308) 520-2024.

Free-will donations will be accepted at the event.

Then, on Saturday, October 25, the community will have another chance to support the family during the 1st Annual Devin Burch Poker Run.

The run will start at The Hub Bar and end at Sculley’s Shooters. Registration will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Following the run, there will be 50/50 raffles, a silent auction, live music and food at Sculley’s Shooters.

Organizers say bikes and cars are welcome, and the route will be determined by the weather.

Donations to the Burch family can be mailed at anytime to Twizted Needle, 203 North Jeffers Street, North Platte, NE, 69101.
