York Man Convicted of Stealing from Jaycees

gavel-and-scaleYORK, Neb. (AP) — A 35-year-old man has been convicted of stealing more than $1,400 from the York Jaycees.

Travis Stuhr pleaded no contest on Tuesday to four misdemeanor accounts of theft and was found guilty. His sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 24.

Prosecutors say Stuhr, of York, had access to the Jaycees checking account because he was supposed to pay bills from a demolition derby the group sponsored. York County Attorney Candace Dick says Stuhr wrote four checks to himself totaling $1,430. She also says restitution has been paid.
