LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Lincoln police have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection to a motorcycle crash that killed his girlfriend.
Officer Katie Flood tells said the man was jailed Wednesday on suspicion of manslaughter. Police say he was driving a motorcycle at 80 mph in a 40 mph zone with his girlfriend as a passenger on July 19. They say he ran a red light and crashed into a Jeep.
His girlfriend died at the scene of the crash. He was treated at an area hospital and released.
It’s unclear why he wasn’t arrested sooner.
