A former North Platte man is facing a sexual assault charge after he allegedly assaulted a young girl.

According to North Platte Police, an investigation began in August of 2013, after a 12-year-old girl reported that she had been sexually assaulted by 32-year-old Quaine Day.

Police say an interview was conducted with the girl at the Bridge of Hope Child Advocacy Center, and she disclosed that Day had sexually penetrated her on multiple occasions over the past year.

The incidents allegedly took place at several different locations in North Platte.

Authorities say that several other subjects were interviewed, and corroborated the girl’s allegations.

Investigators determined that probable cause existed to arrest Day for 1st degree sexual assault of a child, but they say he had moved to Colorado and they were unable to locate him.

On Wednesday, Day was arrested on a felony warrant, however, the details of his arrest are not known at this time.

Day is jailed at the Lincoln County Detention Center, where he is being held on $250,000 bond.
