Beatrice Man Gets Prison for Abusing Wife

prisonBEATRICE, Neb. (AP) — A Beatrice man has been sentenced to at least five years in prison for abusing his wife, including hitting her with a bathroom sink.

40-year-old Terrence M. Thompson was sentenced Thursday in Gage County District Court on charges of third-degree assault, strangulation and possession of methamphetamine. A plea deal earlier dropped other charges.

Thompson’s wife told authorities she was hit multiple times by him, including with a bathroom sick. Court documents indicated the woman had a fractured rib and several bruises in different states of healing.

Officers were contacted in August after the woman’s son reported the abuse to his school.
