MADISON, Neb. (AP) — The former zoning administrator for Madison and Pierce counties has been charged with felony theft.
53-year-old John Johnson was charged Friday morning in Madison County Court.
Madison County Attorney Joe Smith said officials believe Johnson charged more than $500 in gasoline to Madison County for use in his personal vehicle.
A phone number for Johnson could not be found Saturday. Johnson’s attorney, Joel Carlson of Norfolk, did not immediately return a message left at this law firm on Sunday.
Johnson had served 12 years in that position for both counties before resigning this summer.
