OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Omaha police say a 12-year-old has died at a hospital after being found unresponsive at a school swimming pool.

Police were called Thursday afternoon to Nathan Hale Middle School about a possible drowning. When emergency crews arrived, they found student Demariont’e Brown-Elliott unresponsive.

He was taken to Immanuel Medical Center. Police announced Friday he had died.
