LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — A 32-year-old Lincoln man has pleaded no contest to a drug charge in connection with a Hallam woman’s overdose last spring.

Peter Dudek entered the plea Thursday in Lancaster County District Court. Dudek faces up to 20 years in prison when he’s sentenced in January for attempted delivery of methamphetamine.

In May, Lancaster County Sheriff’s deputies arrested him and 49-year-old Scott Squires on suspicion of delivering the drugs that led to Michelle “Shelly” Kover-Weaver’s May 2 death. Squires is set to enter a plea later this month.

Investigators say they believed Squires and Kover-Weaver paid Dudek $120 for 1.3 grams of meth.

Squires and Kover-Weaver’s 14-year-old son found her unresponsive before she was pronounced dead.
