LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — A Lincoln woman has been accused of cutting her adult daughter’s leg and stabbing a dog in the neck.
Police say 39-year-old Tanya Perez faces a charge of second-degree assault. She has also been cited on animal cruelty. Court records do not list an attorney.
Officers responded to Perez’ apartment Thursday night on a report of a domestic assault. Perez is accused of grabbing a steak knife and cutting her 22-year-old daughter’s leg. She is also accused of stabbing a pit bull in the neck as the dog tried to intervene in the alleged fight.
Police say the women had argued over drugs before the verbal argument turned physical.
Perez’ daughter was treated for her injury. Additional information about the dog is not available.
