Omaha Man Gets Probation in Fatal Car Crash

Nicholas-MarescalcoOMAHA, Neb. (AP) — An Omaha man has been given probation for his involvement in a car crash earlier this year that killed his girlfriend.

A judge sentenced 26-year-old Nicholas Marescalco on Wednesday to five years of probation on a manslaughter charge.

Prosecutors said Marescalco was driving when he intentionally crashed the vehicle into a pole in July. Twenty-five-year-old Sharlee Arnett, a passenger in the car, was killed.

The judge told Marescalco he issued probation instead of a short prison sentence so he could monitor him longer.
