Joanna “Marlene” (Pearson) Marshall

Joanna “Marlene” (Pearson) Marshall was born January 23, 1933 in Mullen, Nebraska to Fritz and Myrtle Pearson. She passed away December 12, 2014 at Linden Court in North Platte, Nebraska surrounded by her family.
Marlene graduated from Mullen High School in 1952. She married Dean Marshall on September 16, 1953 where they began ranching and raising their four children together. She was a member of Saint Joseph’s Episcopal Church. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards and sending time with family and friends. Marlene will be most remembered for her smile and positive attitude.
Survivors include: Husband Dean of 61 years, son Fred (Nyla) Marshall, daughters Donna (Ron) Boyer, Deanna (Tim) Simonson, Della (Leon) Urdiales; 7 grandchildren Jason (Mandy) Marshall, Bill (Reagan) and Brandon (Terra) Boyer, Brandi (Ethan Kearns) and Jared Simonson, Eric and Ashley Urdiales; 8 great-grandchildren, sisters Helen Dent and Mary Worrall, in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, John, Bill and Donald and grandson Josh Simonson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Cedarview Cemetery, Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home of the donor’s choice.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 2 pm MST at St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church in Mullen. Father William Graham officiating. Burial will be in the Cedarview Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday at the Mullen Funeral Home from 9 am to 7 m MST. Mullen Funeral Home, 308-546-2260, is in charge of arrangements.
