Clinton Lee Miller, 81, of North Platte, NE, passed away Friday, December 12, 2014, at Great Plains Health in North Platte.

Clinton was born February 20, 1933, Mark ‘Lloyd’ and Blanche Irene Jobe Miller at Maxwell, NE where he grew up. Clinton graduated from Maxwell High School in 1951 then farmed for a couple of years before serving in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955.

On November 18, 1955, Clinton married Roberta ‘Jane’ George in North Platte. They lived around Maxwell and the surrounding area where they owned and operated a dairy farm for 21 years. After they sold the dairy farm in 1980, Clinton worked for the XIT Ranch for nine years before moving into North Platte. He then went to work at the Federal Building as a federal employee in maintenance until retiring. Following his retirement Clinton continued to work at numerous odd jobs. In 2008 Jane passed away.

Clinton married Marjorie Booth Berniklau Phillips on May 5, 2011, at Las Vegas, NV. The couple lived in Maxwell and North Platte and enjoyed taking trips to Mexico.

Clinton was a member of the Maxwell Baptist Church. He loved working in his garden and shop and enjoyed watching sports.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie, of North Platte; his children, Scott Miller (friend, Stan Brown), of Omaha, NE, Lori (Darrell) Anderson, of Sutherland, NE and Dan (Pam) Miller and Bill (Dawn) Miller, all of North Platte; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (friend, Julie), Gregg (Hope), Danielle (Chancy), Melissa (Darreld), Devin, Dustin, Derek (Mikala) and Randi (Chris); and 14 great-grandchildren, Katie, Lauren, Blake, Dylan, Brody, Kaylie, Ashlynn, Gradeon, Jace, Cade, Tristan, Emersyn, Luke and Nathan.

He is also survived by his brothers, Darold (Ilene) Miller, of Maxwell, Delmar (Hazel) Miller, of North Platte and Loren (Mary Ellen) Miller, of Cochrane, Canada; sisters, Pauline (Dick) Edson, of Gothenburg, NE, Vernita (Joe) Yanken, of Dubland, GA, Dottie George, of Tennessee and Juel (Bruce) Freeburg and Patty (Dennis) Leighton, all of North Platte; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Seaton, of North Platte and Barbara Booth, of Maxwell; three stepdaughters, Jacqueline Berniklau (David Jacquith), of Lincoln, NE, Jeannine Lane, of Ogallala, NE and Janelle (Kerri) Doleshall, of Ovid, CO; three step grandchildren, Jacqelle, Jason and Jessie; many nieces, nephews and other family.

Along with his wife, Jane, Clinton was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Blanche; stepmothers, Nira Miller and Martha Jane Miller; his sister, Shirley Geyer Nuttall; brother-in-law, Rex George; granddaughter, Melissa ‘Missy’ Leibhart-Vargas; and a great-granddaughter, Emma Jane.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at the Maxwell Baptist Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Fort McPherson National Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore. Condolences may also be shared at odeanchapel.com. The family has established a memorial. Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
