OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — The Douglas County prosecutor has charged a Fremont man with misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide for a September crash that killed another man.
A news release from Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine says 21-year-old Gregory Swatzell was driving a trailer truck in on state Highway 36 on Sept. 11 when he ran a stop sign and hit a sport utility vehicle, killing its driver, 36-year-old Ryan Boelman of Bennington.
The misdemeanor charge carries a penalty of up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.
Swatzell’s arraignment date has not yet been set.
