OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Authorities say they’re investigating reports of gunfire in east Omaha during the early morning hours of New Year’s Day.

Omaha police say officers responded to an area near a bar around 2 a.m. Wednesday. They found a 25-year-old woman with a gunshot wound. She was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

One person was taken into custody on charges of discharging a firearm within city limits and possession of an unregistered firearm, but additional information is not available. Authorities do not know if the arrest is connected to the wounded woman.
