LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Landowners can learn proper techniques for burning away excess brush, shrubs and trees in a series of workshops scheduled throughout Nebraska.
The prescribed burn training workshops will all run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Beginning and intermediate burners will learn about fire behavior, proper equipment and planning, and safety techniques.
The events are hosted by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and the group Pheasants Forever, for a $10 fee.
Events are scheduled in Lincoln, Hay Springs, Scottsbluff, North Platte, Grand Island and Norfolk in January and early February. Exact dates and location are available online at http://nebraskapf.com/. People can register by logging onto the website or by calling 308-850-8395.
