Broncos Top Chargers In OT For Fifth Win In Six

The Denver Broncos keep on hanging around the AFC West race thanks to another outstanding effort from their stifiling defense. Matt Prater’s 37 yard field goal deep into overtime lifted the Broncos to a 16-13 victory over the San Diego Chargers in San Diego yesterday. The Broncos tied the game on a 24-yard field goal by Prater with 1:34 left in regulation. The Broncos were led by a defensive effort that sacked Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers three times. A Von Miller tackle for loss in overtime helped push back a game-winning field goal attempt by the Chargers. Nick Novak missed his 53-yard attempt wide right after Miller stopped Mike Tolbert for a four-yard loss on third down. The Broncos have won five of six games and are 5-6 on the season. They travel to Minnesota to face the Vikings next Sunday.
