Nebraska will make its 48th bowl appearance in program history in the Capital One Bowl in Orlando on January 2ndagainst South Carolina. The 9-3 Huskers, ranked 20th in the final BCS standings, face a 10-2 South Carolina team that finished 9th in those same rankings. It will be the fourth all-time meeting between the two schools and first since 1987. The Huskers are 3-0 all-time against the Gamecocks. It’s the second time Nebraska has played in the bowl game formerly known as the Citrus Bowl. The Huskers defeated Georgia Tech in the 1991 edition of the game. The Huskers have won 10 of their last 15 bowl games. A victory in the bowl would give Nebraska three consecutive 10-win seasons for the first time since 1999 to 2001. The game will be televised on ESPN with a noon kickoff.
