Theodore Ralph “Ted” Correll passed away at Linden Court in North Platte, NE, February 26, 2015.
Ted was born on August 10, 1930, to Frank and Eva (Whittaker) Correll at their home south of Wallace, NE. He attended grade school in rural Lincoln County, near Wallace, and graduated high school from the University of Nebraska School of Agriculture in Curtis in 1947. The family moved to their ranch home in McPherson County, south of Tryon, in 1946.
Ted married Lois Lavon Daly on March 16, 1951. He worked at various ranches, including Storer Land and Cattle Company from 1951-1953. In 1953 they rented a farm/ranch east of Ringgold, until 1967, when they purchased his folks’ ranch, south of Tryon. In 1992 they sold the ranch and retired to North Platte, NE, where they have since resided.
Ted served on rural school boards, the Agricultural Stabilization Committee for thirteen years and served on the Miller Cemetery Board for nineteen years. Ted enjoyed golfing and was always ready for a card game.
He and Lois were parents of three sons – Gerald Eugene, Douglas James, and Bruce Edward. He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Walter (Jack) and Clara Daly; a brother, Lenard (Rusty) Correll; brothers-in-law, Gerald Pyzer, Emory Daly, Ron Paxton, and Art Daly; and great-grandson, Jesse Tyler Correll.
Ted is survived by his wife, Lois; sons, Gary (Deb) Correll of North Platte, Doug (Marlene) Correll of Scottsbluff, and Bruce Correll of Broken Bow; grandchildren, Allen (Jen) Correll, Ryan Correll, Kyle (Emily) Correll, Erin (Chris) Fortier, Sara (Nate) Luehrs, Geoff Correll, Bridget Correll; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Clarence (Evelyn) Correll and Jim (Della) Correll; sister, Evelyn Daly; sisters-in-law, Rita Correll, Ilene Daly, and Linda Paxton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Callahan Cancer Center, Great Plains Health Hospice, or donor’s choice. Online condolences can be made at www.adamsswanson.com.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 2, 2015, at 10:30 am at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Dunwoody officiating. Burial will be at Miller Cemetery near Tryon. Visitation will be Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends Sunday from 4-6. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
