Storm Fire Head Coach/GM Schoneck

The Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League have fired head coach and general manager Drew Schoneck, one day after the last-place Storm suffered their third straight loss. Schoeneck took over as the Storm’s coach and GM before the 2009 season. He led the Storm to the USHL playoffs in his first season, but they missed the playoffs last year and had lost 15 of their first 21 games this season to fall to the cellar in the Western Conference standings. Schoneck’s record as the Storm’s coach was 54-70-17. Assistant coach Josh Hauge will take over as the team’s coach and general manager. Fellow assistants Eric Fink and Lenny Hoffman will remain on the staff. The Storm play a pair of games this weekend on home ice. They host Des Moines in Kearney on Friday and Saturday night.
