Terry Ray McEntee age 70, of North Platte passed away March 11, 2015 at the Nebraska Heart Institute in Lincoln. He was born January 3, 1945 in Stapleton, NE to Dennis and Phyllis (Haines) McEntee.
After graduating high school Terry entered the U.S. Navy on February 25, 1965. His Basic training was done in San Diego. From there he was sent to the China Lake Naval ordinance test station in the Mojave Desert for almost 2 years. While at China Lake, in his free time he loved his bull riding which he did every chance he had. After China Lake he was sent to Marine Corps Base at 29 Palms, CA for jungle survival training. From there he was deployed to Danang, Vietnam where he spent 19 months. When Terry was discharged, he came back to North Platte and was trained to become a brick mason which he worked at for 38 years, before retiring.
He married Barbara Bahde on May 27, 1972. He and Barbara were blessed with one son, Jason born on June 11, 1978 and enjoyed his growing up years, attending his sports events and other things he was involved in. Jason married Shayla and blessed us with four beautiful grandchildren, Avery, Madilynn, Jaxon, and Gabriella “Eme”. Terry enjoyed being with his grandchildren. Avery, our lovely redhead, is involved in many sports and musical activities, Madi, our brown eyed little beauty who loves dance and school, Jaxon who loves everything boy especially his John Deere tractor and bib overalls, he looks just like his dad, and Eme our tiny, feisty little sweetheart. He enjoyed spending time with his wife of almost 43 years, lovingly harassing her, discussing politics and watching old and new movies together. He also enjoyed tending to his garden where tomatoes were his specialty! He looked forward to going to Wendover, NV with his buddy Kevin to shake hands with the one armed bandit; and of course he loved the Huskers!
Survivors include his wife, Barbara of North Platte; son, Jason (Shayla) McEntee of North Platte; grandchildren, Avery, Madilynn, Jaxon, and Gabriella “Eme” all of North Platte; sister, Cindy (Larry) Blaesi of Omaha; brother, Jerry McEntee of North Platte; many nieces and nephews; numerous cousins; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and three younger sisters.
