jailST. PAUL, Neb. (AP) — A 29-year-old man who caused a crash last year that killed another man has been sentenced to five to seven years in prison.

Justin Arrowsmith, of Arcadia, was sentenced Friday in Howard County District Court for one count of manslaughter.

Prosecutors say Arrowsmith was high on methamphetamine and other drugs when he drove in the wrong lane of Highway 92 on July 20 and hit the car of 21-year-old Derek Holt, of St. Paul. Holt died at a nearby hospital.

Judge Karin Noakes said during Arrowsmith’s sentencing that he had made little effort to receive treatment for his drug addiction.
