GRETNA, Neb. (AP) — A Sarpy County worker has been injured in a collision between his road grader and a locomotive at a crossing in rural Sarpy County.
The accident occurred around 10:45 a.m. Monday near Capehart Road and 227th Street, southwest of Gretna. The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office says 54-year-old Todd Gloe was grading a gravel road when his machine was struck by the locomotive at the head of the westbound train. Gloe was flown to an Omaha hospital.
Traffic at the crossing is controlled by stop signs.
