LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming wrestling head coach Mark Branch says the school will honor the scholarship offered to a Nebraska recruit who had his left leg amputated above the knee after a car accident.
Doyle Trout was injured in a one-car accident on Sunday afternoon near Waco, Nebraska.
Trout is a four-time Nebraska state champion.
Branch visited Trout and his family on Monday at a hospital in Lincoln.
In a statement issued Tuesday, Branch says the Trout has gone through a life-changing incident but he’s still considered a Wyoming Cowboy.
He says Trout is in good spirits and is equipped to handle the change.
