A North Platte man is facing charges after a violent outburst on Saturday afternoon.

Officers with the North Platte Police Department responded to the report of a male causing damage to a home in the 1700 block of West 13th Street, at around 3:00 p.m., on April 11.

According to Officer Rodney Brown, the suspect, 24-year-old William Reed, had been previously ordered by police to stay off the property.  Brown said he had also been cited for breaking a window at the home.

Officers spoke with a 53-year-old female victim who alleged that Reed had called her and threatened to kill her, before showing up, kicking the door and threatening to break into the house.

Officers located Reed hiding near the residence and placed him under arrest.

Reed was transported to the Lincoln County Detention Center and charged with felony terroristic threats and criminal mischief.

Brown said the victim in this case was also a witness against Reed in a prior criminal case.  As a result, he was also charged with tampering with a witness.
