OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Police say a 65-year-old man has been shot during an attempted carjacking outside a northwest Omaha apartment complex.

Omaha police Lt. Jerry Swanson said the man was shot once in the stomach while in the parking lot of the Fox Valley Apartments building around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday. The victim, whose name has not been released, was transported to the Nebraska Medical Center.

Swanson said he is in critical condition.

According to Swanson, the suspect is not in custody.
